40th Anniversary

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It is hard to believe but this year marks the 40th anniversary of
our footy club building the clubhouse and relocating to Manns Rd.

To commemorate this anniversary, we have planned a weekend of celebrations from 23-25 May 2025. Celebrations will begin on the Friday evening and culminate with a

home game versus the old enemy, Byron Bay, on Sunday.

We are extending an invitation to all past and present players, coaches, administrators, members and sponsors to come along on anyone one (or all) of the days.

The details are as follows:

Friday 23 May
Meet and greet at the club’s major 2025 sponsor The Court House Hotel. We are hoping that along with all past and current players we will especially see as many players that were involved in the 1985 season attend.

We will also celebrate the 1985 reserve grade premiership win on the night, again hoping many players from 1985 will attend.

The night will be informal with meals available at the pub for anyone wishing to dine.

We will ‘kick off’ around 5.00 pm.

Saturday 24 May
We will have a more formal celebration of the anniversary at our clubhouse at Manns Rd., again open to all past and current players, coaches, administrators, members and sponsors.

Neil “Bing” Pringle, our A grade coach back in 1985 will MC and we are currently arranging special guest speakers for the afternoon. A mini sports luncheon if you like.

Nibblies will be provided and drinks will be available at bar prices.

To assist with catering please advise by email to the club (mullumleaguesclub@gmail.com) or text to myself (0417067595),
Ryan (0408464115) or Shane (0438403454) if you are wishing to attend.

The day will commence at 2.00 pm.

Sunday 25 May
Clash of the Titans!! We host the Red Devils in 4 grades.

Back in 1985 the first game held at our new facility was against Byon Bay.

We have flagged this as Old Boys Day and Byron have accepted our invitation to bring their Old Boys over. In the past these 2 teams played for the Byron Shield and this home game will mark the recommencement of the shield.

Please feel free to pass this information on so as we spread the word as wide as possible.

Looking forward to a great weekend
